Free Starter at Nando's, Here's How to Claim It

Nando's just started handing out free starters and free chicken again. A ¼ chicken normally costs around £7.45. A starter like spicy mixed olives or garlic bread runs £4-6. You're getting one completely free on your next order after you sign up to their Rewards app.

The catch? You've got to spend £7+ on that same order to actually redeem it. So it's not a free meal, it's a free item attached to a proper order. But that's still a decent saving if you're going anyway.

What you get

You get one free item from the Green Reward menu, either a ¼ chicken, a starter, or three chicken wings. The free reward is valid for 30 days after you join Nando's Rewards, and it works at every Nando's in London. There are dozens across the city, Covent Garden (63-64 Covent Garden, WC2E 9JD), Soho, Southbank, Canary Wharf, you name it. Most open around 11:30am and close at 10pm, though some stay open later on weekends.

You can use it for eat-in, collection, or delivery. The one thing you can't do is use it on Dare to Share platters, that's excluded. And you need to show your Nando's Card (digital or physical) at the till or in the app when you order.

How to get it

1. Go to the Nando's Rewards website or download the app on your phone. 2. Sign up with your email and postcode. Takes about two minutes. 3. Your free Green Reward appears instantly in the app. 4. Book a table or head into your nearest restaurant, order food worth at least £7, and select your free item at checkout. 5. Show your Nando's Card when you pay, the discount applies automatically.

What the TikTok did not mention

Go at off-peak times. Lunch between 2-4pm is quieter than dinner service, so you'll actually get a table without waiting 30 minutes.

The ¼ chicken is the better pick over the wings. Three wings is basically a snack. The chicken comes with a side and sauce, so you're getting proper value.

You can also stack it with a mate's order. You both sign up separately, you both get a free item, you both hit the £7 minimum together. Two free items for one trip.

The catch

The free reward expires 30 days after you join, so you've got a window to use it. And you need to spend that £7 minimum, you can't just order a free ¼ chicken and call it done. It's designed to get you in the door and buying a full meal.

If you're going to Nando's anyway next week, there's no reason not to sign up first and pocket the saving.
