What's on

80 food stalls run the perimeter of the Green from 11am. Four bars on site for craft ales, wine, Pimms and fresh juices. Live music through the day plus DJs from 4pm. Family activities run the whole event.

Local stalls run alongside the food, honey, jam, mead from south London producers. The Met Police usually do free bike security marking on site too.

How to get there

1. Denmark Hill station (Thameslink and Overground) is closest, 10-minute walk north. 2. Or Oval tube (Northern line), 20-minute walk south, or the 36 bus. 3. Walk into the green. No tickets, no booking, just turn up. 4. Spring Community Hub stall is signposted for the free lunch. 5. What's worth knowing

Hit it 11am-2pm. Stalls are fully stocked, the free lunch is still flowing, queues are short. After 2pm the favourites run out and the crowds thicken.

Brazilian and Venezuelan stalls are the standouts. Grilled meats beat the generic falafel options, around £8-15 a plate.

The Met Police bike marking is genuinely useful if you cycle. Free, five minutes, theft deterrent.

Outdoor only. If May throws rain at it, there's no indoor backup. Check the forecast morning of.
